STEFANO BENASSI

(Suzzara, December 26, 1957) is an actor, dubbing and director of Italian dubbing.

He is especially known for having given voice to Colin Firth as Mark Darcy in The Bridget Jones Diary, What a mess, Bridget Jones! And A Christmas Carol, Christoph Waltz in the role of Hans Landa in Bastardi without Glory and in Dr. Schultz's King in Django Unchained, Damon Wayans as Michael Kyle in All Family, Martin Sheen as Captain Benjamin Willard in the Movie Apocalypse Now Redux by Francis Ford Coppola, Kyle MacLachlan as Dale Cooper in The Secrets of Twin Peaks, Scott Patterson as Luke Danes in A Mom for Friend, David Caruso as John Kelly in NYPD - New York Police Department, Anthony Head in the role of Giles in Buffy the shooter, Zach Galifianakis as Davis in Tru Calling and Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd in Gray's Anatomy and Vodafone's 2017 spots. Mark Valley in Daniel Shaw's role in the 15th season Csi Crime Scene Investigations.

Among the actors dubbed in some of the signature performances by Gerard Butler, Tim Robbins, Gary Oldman, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Lucas, Jim Carrey in Ron Howard's Grinch, Robert Carlyle in The Insatiable and Paddy Considine in America - There was not Jim Sheridan.

She was married to actress and singer Chiara Salerno (daughter of well-known actor Enrico Maria Salerno and cousin of journalist Paolo Salerno and singer Sabrina Salerno) from which she had two daughters, Isabella and Veronica.

She is currently married to actress and double-sister Nunzia Di Somma from whom she had two sons, Vittoria and Nelson, the latter named by her wife in honor of her father. He also graduated in nuclear engineering in 1982.
